Roughriders sign American wide receiver Xavier Ubosi

REGINA – The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed American receiver Xavier Ubosi on Wednesday.

The six-foot-three, 215-pound Ubosi originally signed with Saskatchewan in December 2019. He never suited up for the Riders as the CFL didn’t stage a ’20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ubosi was unable to attend Riders training camp in 2021.

Ubosi, 28, also spent time with the NFL’s New England Patriots, York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Ubosi played collegiately at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, registering 48 receptions for 1,065 yards and nine TDs over two seasons (2017-18).
