Human rights commission to meet on personnel matter

JUNEAU, Alaska – The Alaska human rights commission plans to meet to discuss a confidential personnel matter.

The commission’s executive director, Marti Buscaglia, didn’t immediately respond to an email seeking more information about the April 1 meeting.

Buscaglia was at the centre of a recent controversy for pointing out a “Black Rifles Matter” sticker on a truck in the commission’s parking lot she said she thought was racist.

She posted a picture on the commission’s Facebook page asking, “In what world is this OK?”

She also wrote on a note on her business card that she has said a probation officer who works in the building put the note on the truck along with his card.

A spokesman for Gov. Mike Dunleavy said the investigation was completed and forwarded to the Chair of the Alaska State Commission for Human Rights.
