KELOWNA – A cyclist has been rushed to hospital with undisclosed injuries following a mid-day collision with a semi-truck.

Kelowna RCMP received a report of a cyclist-involved collision Aug. 12 at 1:38 p.m., on Dilworth Drive near the major intersection of Harvey Avenue.

The Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Section is on scene conducting their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey said in a press release.

Traffic services investigators have blocked a portion of Dilworth Drive in order to conduct their examination of the scene. Although traffic along Harvey Avenue may be impacted, all lanes of Harvey Avenue remain open at this time.

“The cyclist has been rushed to the hospital,” O’Donaghey said. “The cyclist’s current condition is not known at this time.”

Motorists are urged to monitor Drive B.C. for updates on the closure of Dilworth Drive.
