LAKE LOUISE, Alta. – A training run for the season-opening World Cup downhill in Lake Louise, Alta., has been cancelled because of too much snow.
The first race of the season is scheduled for Saturday at the Alberta ski resort with a super-G to follow Sunday.
Another training run is scheduled for Friday.
About 25 centimetres of snow fell overnight in the mountain parks with more expected Friday, so workers need extra time to groom the course.
Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud posted the fastest time and Canadian Manny Osborne-Paradis was second in the first training run Wednesday.
