Edmonton Oilers forward Matt Hendricks leaves game against Predators with injured leg

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Edmonton Oilers forward Matt Hendricks has injured his leg against the Nashville Predators.

Facing his former team, Hendricks blocked Shea Weber’s shot from just a few feet away in the right faceoff circle at 2:12 of the first period Thursday night. Hendricks hobbled back to the Edmonton bench and proceeded directly to the locker room.

During the first intermission, the Oilers announced that Hendricks would not return to the game due to a leg injury. Weber’s shot appeared to hit him in the left leg.

Hendricks has played in all 23 of Edmonton’s games this season, scoring two goals and adding three assists to go along with a team-high 30 penalty minutes.
