Police arrest Puerto Rico rapper on domestic violence charge

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – A Puerto Rican rapper known as “The Mexican” has been charged with domestic violence.

Justice officials said in a statement Saturday that Ismael Perales Ortiz is accused of assaulting an ex-partner and of threatening to injure her or her family if she called police.

Perales is being held on $50,000 bond. He was arrested in the northern coastal town of Manati.
