
‘Games of Thrones’ tops creative arts Emmy Awards; honours to Bates, Fallon, Davies, Plimpton
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The fantasy series “Game of Thrones” is the big winner at the creative arts Emmy Awards.
HBO’s saga received a leading six trophies at the ceremony Saturday night in Los Angeles that recognizes technical and other achievements.
Among those honoured were four TV series guest stars, including Kathy Bates for “Two and a Half Men” and Jimmy Fallon as host of “Saturday Night Live.”
On the drama side, Emmys went to Jeremy Davies for his guest appearance on “Justified” and Martha Plimpton for her turn on “The Good Wife.”
Among networks, HBO earned a leading 17 creative arts Emmys, followed by CBS with 13 and PBS with 11.
Emmys in 26 other categories will be presented Sept. 23 at a ceremony airing live on ABC.
