Small wildfire in Shuswap being held

SICAMOUS – A small spot fire burning near Sicamous is under control.

B.C. Wildfire Service says the blaze is located northwest of Sicamous at Bastion Creek, several kilometres west of the Hermit Bay site at Shuswap Lake Marine Provincial Park.

The fire was discovered yesterday, Aug. 20, and six B.C. Wildfire service personnel are currently on the ground.

The cause of the fire is being investigated and the Wildfire Service believes the fire to be human-caused.

The fire is not close to any structures.
