Weapon complaint prompts heavy police presence in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — A heavy police presence in a North Kamloops neighbourhood last night was sparked by a weapons complaint.
Kamloops RCMP say they received a report of a suspicious vehicle and the occupant may have been in possession of a firearm, according to a Kamloops RCMP media release.
Officers responded yesterday, Aug. 20, at 6:45 p.m. and conducted extensive patrols in the Westsyde area. They located a vehicle that roughly matched the description but determined it was not involved.
Police say patrols throughout the night did not locate the suspect vehicle.
