Shuswap’s Rust Valley Restorers heading to Netflix

A crew of Shuswap mechanics who made their television debut last winter introducing thousands of people to classic cars will now have their first season available on Netflix.

Rust Valley Restorers premiered on the History Channel last December with its stars Mike Hall — also known as Rasta Blasta — his son Connor and close friend Avery Shoaf. The car restoration series takes place in Tappen, approximately an hour east of Kamloops.

The series came to be after Hall tried to sell his five-acre parcel of land in Tappen along with 300 cars he had collected over 40 years. While he was unsuccessful in selling the area, he caught the attention of television producers.

The eight-episode television series has been picked up by Netflix, according to a post on the Rust Brothers Restoration's Facebook page.

"Rust Valley Restorers season one will be available on Netflix August 23," the post reads.
