Sunny and hot this week in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – The last week of August should provide some mid-summer weather in Kamloops.

Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist says to expect temperatures in and around the 30 C mark for most of this week under sunny skies.

The forecast calls for sunshine today, Aug. 26, in Kamloops with the wind becoming west at 20 km/h this afternoon and a high of 26 Celsius. The wind is expected to become light this evening with a clear sky overnight and a low of 10 C.

Tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be sunny with a high of 32 C tomorrow, and highs of 30 C on Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight lows are expected to dip to around 14 C.

Sunny skies and temperatures are 30 C are expected on Friday and Saturday, but Sunday could see a change, with clouds and a high of 25 C forecast.

Normal temperatures at this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 26 C and lows of 12 C.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. As an airborne geophysical surveyor I travelled extensively around the globe, conducting helicopter borne mineral surveys.
I also spent several years at an Okanagan Falls based lumber mill, producing glued-wood laminated products.
As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
I am currently married to my wife Judy, of 26 years. We are empty-nesters who enjoy living in Kaleden with our Welsh Terrier, Angus, and cat, Tibbs.
Our two daughters, Meagan and Hayley, reside in Richmond and Victoria, respectively.
