Klein, Vassanji among those longlisted for RBC Taylor Prize, worth $25,000

TORONTO – A dozen books have made the long list for the RBC Taylor Prize for literary non-fiction, worth $25,000.

Authors who made the cut include Tim Cook (a previous winner) for “The Necessary War, Volume One” (Penguin Canada) and Naomi Klein for “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate” (Knopf Canada).

Also in the running is “And Home Was Kariakoo: A Memoir of East Africa” by M.G. Vassanji (Doubleday Canada) and “Boundless” by Kathleen Winter (House of Anansi Press).

The short list will be announced January 14 with the winner to be unveiled March 2.
