Alabama woman convicted on felony charges as member of family sex ring that abused children.

BAY MINETTE, Ala. – Jurors have convicted an Alabama woman of being part of a family sex ring that abused children for years.

The jury took about two hours Wednesday to find 35-year-old Wendy Wood Holland guilty of sodomy, sexual abuse, sexual torture and child endangerment. She showed no emotion when the verdict was read.

Holland was among 11 people arrested following the disappearance of her 19-year-old niece Brittney Wood in 2012.

Wood was last seen with Holland’s husband and police believe she was an abuse victim who could have provided important evidence against her family.

Prosecution evidence in the two-day trial showed the teen was part of a group sex encounter that included her aunt who was on trial. But witnesses didn’t provide any evidence about what might have happened to Wood.
