
Federal election season kicks off next week in the Central Okanagan
KELOWNA – An all-candidates forum set for both federal Central Okanagan ridings next week is the unofficial launch of the Oct. 21 federal election campaign.
Sponsored by the National Association of Federal Retirees and the Canadian Association of Retired Teachers, it’s slated for 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Mary Irwin Theatre in the Rotary Centre for the Arts in Kelowna on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. to allow time for one-on-one meetings with the candidates.
Kelowna-Lake Country Liberal incumbent Stephen Fuhr is being challenged by Conservative Tracy Gray, the NDP’s Justin Kulik, Green Party candidate Travis Ashley and Salomon Rayek for the People’s Party of Canada.
In Central Okanagan – Similkameen – Nicola, Conservative incumbent Dan Albas is being challenged by Liberal Mary Ann Murphy, the NDP’s Joan Phillip, Green Robert Mellalieu and Allan Duncan for the People’s Party.
There was no word at press time on which candidates had confirmed their attendance.
