Police locate and arrest suspect allegedly involved in kidnapping, attempted murder

WILLIAMS LAKE –  Williams Lake RCMP has two men in custody on charges of kidnapping and attempted murder.

RCMP asked for the public’s help in locating 23-year-old Michael Drynock after a homicide on Aug. 6 and an incident on the Rudy Johnson bridge on the Fraser River on Aug 9.

Drynock was located and arrested without incident on Aug. 19. He is facing two charges of kidnapping and two charges of attempted murder, according to a Williams Lake RCMP release.

A body was found on the Fraser River by a fisherman on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and is suspected to be that of Branton Regner, who was involved in the incident on Rudy Johnson bridge and reported missing thereafter.

Another man has been arrested in relation to the incidents. Jayson Gilbert also faces two counts of attempted murder and two counts of kidnapping.
