Using joke picture, Fox suggests Obama had more interest in pirates than in foreign policy

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Fox News Channel apparently wasn’t in on the pirate joke.

The network’s morning show on Thursday repeatedly used a picture of President Barack Obama sitting in the Oval Office with a man in a full pirate costume. “Fox & Friends” hosts suggested Obama was more interested in meeting with pirates than in conducting foreign policy.

The picture was actually taken as a joke before Obama spoke to the White House Correspondents dinner three years ago.

The picture resurfaced Wednesday when tweeted by the Obama campaign for “Talk Like a Pirate Day.” The tweet linked to the picture with the message: “Arrr You In?”

The network later tweeted a clarification to the blooper, made three times on “Fox & Friends. “
