Ex-Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, DeRidder singer want 100-year-old Louisiana jail in music video

DERIDDER, La. – Local officials in west Louisiana say former Eurythmics singer and guitarist Dave Stewart plans to film a new music video early next year in their century-old Gothic Revival jail.

Secretary-treasurer Tayra DeHoven (duh-HOH-ven) says the Beauregard Parish Police Jury had voted to allow it if she OK’d the lyrics of “Leave This Town.”

She told The Associated Press on Tuesday that she has approved the lyrics, and Stewart’s employees tell her they’re thinking about filming in January or February.

The song features Thomas Lindsey, of DeRidder.

According to Stewart’s website, Stewart and Lindsey collaborated over the Internet, with Stewart recording in Los Angeles and Lindsey in Louisiana.

They performed together Dec. 8 in West Hollywood. A reviewer described Lindsey as phenomenal and “the big revelation of the night.”
