TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Penn West Petroleum Ltd. (TSX:PWT). Oil and gas. Up one cent, or 0.38 per cent, to $2.62 on 35.5 million shares.

Romarco Minerals Inc. (TSX:R). Miner. Down eight cents, or 14.81 per cent, to 46 cents on 31.3 million shares.

Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (TSX:ATD.B). Restaurant. Up $2.87, or 6.21 per cent, to $49.08 on 29.4 million shares.

Teranga Gold Corp. (TSX:TGZ). Miner. Down 5.5 cents, or 12.36 per cent, to 39 cents on 28.3 million shares.

Endeavour Mining Corp. (TSX:EDV). Miner. Down 5.5 cents, or 11.83 per cent, to 41 cents on 24.7 million shares.

Lake Shore Gold Corp. (TSX:LSG). Miner. Down eight cents, or 9.09 per cent, to 80 cents on 24.6 million shares.

Perseus Mining Ltd. (TSX:PRU). Miner. Down 5.5 cents, or 22.45 per cent, to 19 cents on 23.1 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

BlackBerry (TSX:BB). Wireless technology. Down 12 cents, or 1.03 per cent, to $11.55 on 8.3 million shares. The smartphone maker’s revenue fell short of estimates even as the company posted a profit of one cent a share after adjustments, beating expectations of an adjust loss of five cents a share. The company narrowed its net loss to US$148 million or 28 cents, an improvement from a year ago when it posted a loss of $4.4 billion or $8.39. The company’s revenue was US$793 million versus analyst predictions of US$931 million, and down from $1.19 billion a year ago.
