Sunny and hot start to the weekend in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops should see a sunny and warm start to the weekend before an expected cool down accompanied by showers takes place on Sunday.

Environment Canada says to expect sunny conditions today, Sept. 5, with a high of 32 Celsius. The wind should become easterly at 20 km/h this afternoon followed by a few clouds and a low of 15 C tonight.

Tomorrow should see a sun and cloud mix and a high of 32 C, followed by clearing skies and a low of 14 C overnight.

Saturday should see increasing cloudiness with a high of 31 C and a low overnight of 16 C, under cloudy skies.

Showers are expected to move into the Kamloops area Sunday with a 70 per cent chance of rain under cloudy skies and a high of 24 C. The possibility of showers persists through Sunday night at 40 per cent with an overnight low of 15 C.

A 60 per cent chance of showers is predicted for Monday with a daytime high of 22 C. The clouds continue with a 60 per cent chance of showers overnight and a low down to 13 C.

Tuesday is expected to be showery as well, with a 60 per cent chance throughout the day. The daytime high temperature should reach 22 C with an overnight low of 12 C.

Normal temperatures for this time of year in Kamloops are highs of 24 C and lows of 10 C.

I have been looking for news in the South Okanagan - SImilkameen for 20 years, having turned a part time lifelong interest into a full time profession. After five years publishing a local newsletter, several years working as a correspondent / stringer for several local newspapers and seven years as editor of a Similkameen weekly newspaper, I joined iNFOnews.ca in 2014. As a member of the Kaleden community, I have been involved in the Kaleden Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, and also serve as a trustee on the Kaleden Irrigation District board.
