Texas TV meteorologist says he’s ‘getting better’ after being shot outside station

TEMPLE, Texas – A Central Texas meteorologist who was shot last week outside of his TV station says he is “slowly getting better.”

Patrick Crawford told reporters on Monday his main focus is returning home to his family from the hospital in Temple where he’s receiving care.

Crawford, who is the morning weathercaster at KCEN-TV near Waco, was shot Wednesday morning in the station parking lot. The unknown suspect fled on foot.

Crawford says that he didn’t know his attacker and that there was no interaction between the two before the suspect shot him.

No arrest has been made in the case, and a motive has not been identified.
