Two dead in Trans Canada crash near Revelstoke

KAMLOOPS – A crash on the Trans Canada near Three Valley Gap has claimed the lives of two people.

A westbound tractor-trailer and an eastbound car collided between Revelstoke and Craigellachie around 1 p.m. Saturday, according a Revelstoke Times Review report. The people in the car were killed.

The highway was closed for over nine hours as a RCMP traffic analyst investigated, and the wreckage was cleared from the road. The route reopened at about 9:30 p.m.

People heading east were kept in Sicamous, while those trying to drive west were kept in Revelstoke.

RCMP have not released any information about the victims of the crash.

Both police and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating.
