B.C. premier’s chief of staff resigns over ‘an incident of concern’

VANCOUVER – The chief of staff for B.C. Premier Christy Clark has resigned over what is being described as an “incident of concern.”

Clark’s office has issued a vague statement indicating Ken Boessenkool (BO’-sen-kool), who was appointed in January, has resigned with a letter of apology that alludes to an incident in which Boessenkool “acted inappropriately.”

However, neither the premier’s statement nor Boessenkool’s apology actually outline the reason for Boessenkool’s departure.

In a letter to the premier, Boessenkool says his resignation is related to an incident earlier this month, and he says he unconditionally apologizes for his actions.

He says his actions have let down his family, who live in Calgary, and he is returning home to be with them.

Dan Doyle will take over as Clark’s chief of staff.
