REGENSBURG, Germany – Canada has locked up a spot in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Chris Robinson hit a two-run homer in a four-run first inning as Canada whipped Germany 11-1 at the Armin-Wolf Baseball Arena.

Spain beat Israel 9-7 on Sunday in the other September qualifier.

Eight countries will square off in mid-November in the two remaining qualifier pools.

The Canadian team was relegated to the qualification round after failing to record a victory at the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

The 2013 tournament will be played in March.
