REGENSBURG, Germany – Canada has locked up a spot in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
Chris Robinson hit a two-run homer in a four-run first inning as Canada whipped Germany 11-1 at the Armin-Wolf Baseball Arena.
Spain beat Israel 9-7 on Sunday in the other September qualifier.
Eight countries will square off in mid-November in the two remaining qualifier pools.
The Canadian team was relegated to the qualification round after failing to record a victory at the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
The 2013 tournament will be played in March.
