French rail system orders 42 Bombardier double-deck trains for US$484 million

MONTREAL – Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B) has received a US$484-million order for 42 double-deck regional trains, to be used in the Parisian suburban transportation network.

The order is part of a contract for up to 860 trains, signed in 2010 by SNCF on behalf of several regional systems throughout France.

The latest order is for the Ile-de-France region and brings the number ordered to a total of 201 Regio 2N trains.

Bombardier Transportation says it will begin delivery of the new trains in September 2017.
