
RCMP arrest prolific offender for vehicle theft
KAMLOOPS – A tip from the public led Kamloops RCMP to the location of a stolen vehicle Sunday.
Mounties were sent to the Pineview area to investigate a report of an unoccupied vehicle left in the area, according to an RCMP media relesase. When they arrived, they were able to determine the vehicle was one reported stolen earlier in the day, December 28.
Using an RCMP police service dog, officers located a 24-year-old prolific offender they believed may be connected to the theft. The Kamloops resident was apprehended and remains in custody pending a morning court appearance December 29.
The suspect faces potential charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breach of probation.
The investigation continues.
