Juan Luis Guerra leads Latin Grammy nominees with 6 nods, followed by Jesse & Joy with 5

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Dominican singer, songwriter and producer Juan Luis Guerra is the leading nominee at the 2012 Latin Grammy Awards.

The Latin Recording Academy announced its nominations for the 13th annual Latin Grammy honours Tuesday at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. The awards will be presented in Las Vegas on Nov. 15 and broadcast live on Univision.

Guerra has six nods, followed by Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy with five. Ricardo Arjona, Edgar Barrera, Juanes, Carla Morrison, Arturo Sandoval, Ivete Sangalo and Caetano Veloso earned four nominations apiece.

This year’s awards allow for 10 nominees, rather than five, in the general categories of record, album and song of the year, as well as best new artist.
