6.2-magnitude quake rattles Mexico’s Southern Baja California coast

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – A 6.2-magnitude earthquake has rattled the southern part of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, but there are no immediate reports of damages or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was centred about 47 miles (75 kilometres) north-northeast of the city of La Paz, Baja California Sur.

The USGS said the quake occurred at about 4:45 p.m. local time and was centred offshore in the Gulf of California.
