RCMP asking for help to find missing elderly North Okanagan man

VERNON – Police are asking for the public’s help to find a missing 72-year-old Falkland man.

Bjorn Collnes was last seen on Monday, Sept. 9, at around 1:30 a.m. travelling from Falkland to Kamloops, according to an RCMP media release.

He was behind the wheel of a brown minivan that police found west of Westwold on Sept. 12.

His family told police a blue mountain bike powered by a small motor at the back was missing from the minivan. Police don’t know if Collnes has the bicycle.

RCMP describe Collnes as a Caucasian man, 5’7” tall with blue eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black Harley Davidson T-shirt, gray and black camouflage shorts and brown running shoes.

Anyone with information on this missing person’s whereabouts is urged to contact their local police or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leaving a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com.
