Drama League to honour ‘The Good Wife’ for embracing stage stars like Alan Cumming, Nathan Lane

NEW YORK, N.Y. – One of best places to see Broadway talent on the small screen has always been on “The Good Wife.” Now the show is being honoured for it.

The Drama League said Tuesday it will give the CBS show its first Arts Ally Award in recognition of its support for the Broadway community. The award will be part of the League’s annual gala, which this year celebrates James Earl Jones on Feb. 2.

The award will be handed out to “The Good Wife” executive producers Robert and Michelle King and casting director Mark Saks.

Over the years, “The Good Wife” starring Julianna Margulies has made roles for such stage stars as Alan Cumming, Nathan Lane, David Hyde Pierce, Steven Pasquale, Christine Baranski and Mary Beth Peil.
