SEATTLE – The wife of a Seattle-area comedian attacked onstage at a suburban restaurant says her husband suffered a double skull fracture and is hospitalized in intensive care.
The Seattle Times reports (http://is.gd/T43IfL ) the attacker armed with an aluminum bat reportedly was angry he wasn’t allowed to perform Monday night at an open mic event in Renton.
Kalimar Avila Petitt says her husband, 36-year-old Dylan Avila, was standing onstage during the open-mic show when a man hit him twice in the head. She says about half the people in the audience rushed to Avila, while the other half tried to stop the attacker.
She says the man had performed at the open mic show a few weeks ago, introducing himself as Jesus Christ and then doing a performance that included a Bible and a sex toy.
The Times says the 48-year-old arrested man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault.
