Dalhousie electricity generation station in New Brunswick will be shut down

FREDERICTON – The Dalhousie thermal generation station in northern New Brunswick will be permanently shut down.

NB Power president Gaetan Thomas says the plant is no longer economically viable.

The station began generating electricity in 1969 and has a capacity of 300 megawatts.

It employs about 80 people.
