UPDATE: Arrest made in bomb threat at Kamloops high school

KAMLOOPS – Kamloops-Thompson School District officials are dealing with a second threat made to a local high school this week, and the sixth threat against one of the city's schools in 11 days.

Sa-Hali Secondary School received a second threat today, Sept. 20, and RCMP say in a media release an 18-year-old Kamloops male was arrested this afternoon. He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.

RCMP searched the school this morning and declared it safe.

Two days ago, Sept. 18, the same high school received a bomb threat that disrupted classes for the entire day as police investigated. RCMP determined that threat was unfounded as well.

A separate notice on the high school's website says all weekend activities have been rescheduled as police continue to investigate the reason behind the string of threats.

"Due to RCMP investigations regarding recent threats to Sa-Hali Secondary School, all weekend activities at the school will be rescheduled as to not impede the investigation," the notice reads.

Earlier today, staff at a Kamloops elementary school found the building had been tagged with a graffiti threat.

Police and school district officials are urging parents to speak with their children on the severity of making these threats and the impact they have on the community.
