Play that inspired TV’s ‘Kim’s Convenience’ coming to Kelowna
KELOWNA – A theatre version of the hit TV show Kim’s Convenience is coming to Kelowna Community Theatre in March.
This is the production by Ins Choi that inspired the CBC TV show.
The play follows Mr. Kim, a Korean shopkeeper, who grapples with both a changing neighbourhood landscape and the chasm between him and his second-generation offspring, the City of Kelowna says in a media release.
“We’re excited to host this new Canadian classic that critics have been raving about,” Kelowna Community Theatre manager Geraldine Parent said in the release. “It’s a perfect show for a date night or family outing, as the show is both hilarious and touching.”
Kim’s Convenience is an Arts Club Theatre Company production based on Pacific Theatre’s 2018 production.
There is one show only on March 17. Tickets are $49 and $59 and available at Kelownatickets.com.
