Salmon Arm teen who died in snowmobile accident identified

ENDERBY – The teen who died in a snowmobiling accident near Enderby over the weekend was Brandon Edward Oullette, 16, from Salmon Arm.

According to a release from the B.C. Coroners Service, Oullette was snowmobiling with his father and others at Hunters Range, just north east of Enderby, around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 28 when his machine overturned. Police said it appeared he hit a snow bank and the snowmobile flipped over, trapping him underneath. The accident was unwitnessed, but his father found him a few minutes later.

A search and rescue helicopter with medical personnel on board retrieved him, but Oullette died before reaching the hospital in Vernon. 

It's clear from his Facebook page — where he posted photos of snowmobiles and dirt bikes — Oullette loved the outdoors. 

The B.C. Coroners Service will investigate the death with the help of the RCMP.

Oullette’s family has been notified of his death.
