Coquihalla reopens after early morning crash stops traffic

An early-morning collision forced the closure of the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merrit Saturday, Sept. 28.

According to DriveBC, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. at Mine Creek Road. Detours were not available and crews assessed the scene.

The highway reopened shortly after 8 a.m.

There is currently no word on the cause of the accident, but DriveBC highway webcams show winter conditions on the mountain pass.

More information will follow as it becomes available.
