TORONTO – Shomi, the new streaming service from Rogers and Shaw, plans to offer up several more Amazon original series.
Last week the company announced it will be streaming Amazon’s Golden Globe-winning “Transparent,” starting on Friday.
Now, under an agreement with Sony Pictures Television in Canada, Shomi says it will also stream the Amazon shows “Mozart in the Jungle,” Alpha House” and “Betas.”
“Mozart in the Jungle” is a half-hour dramedy about a young oboist at the New York Symphony.
Stars include Gael Garcia Bernal, Malcolm McDowell and Bernadette Peters.
In the comedy “Alpha House,” John Goodman and Mark Consuelos star in a tale of four Washington, D.C. senators who live together.
And Joe Dinicol of Stratford, Ont., is among the stars of the Silicon Valley comedy “Betas.”
Launch dates for “Mozart in the Jungle,” Alpha House” and “Betas” haven’t been released yet.
