Bomber quarterback Buck Pierce to miss Monday’s game with concussion

WINNIPEG – Buck Pierce will sit out Monday’s CFL game in Montreal.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers coach Tim Burke says medical staff evaluated the data and determined the quarterback should not play.

Pierce sustained what has been termed a mild concussion after Toronto linebacker Brandon Isaac’s helmet rammed his chin Saturday.

Isaac was fined for the hit but three Bombers were also fined, two for going after Isaac and one for talking about the hit.

Bombers linebacker Jovon Johnson suggested the Argos were told to go after Pierce but Burke says he doesn’t believe that to be true.

Pierce has said he will pay the fines imposed on his three teammates.
