Abbotsford police investigating after cyclist killed in apparent hit and run

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Abbotsford Police are investigating after a cyclist was killed in an apparent hit and run.

Police were called at about 11:20 p.m. to the 2000-block of Mount Lehman Road, where they found a severely injured man.

Paramedics responded but the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the victim was cycling southbound when he was struck by a vehicle that was travelling in the same direction.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain on scene and investigators are gathering evidence and appealing to witnesses to come forward.

Police are still working to identify the victim, who is between 40 and 60 years old, and notify his family.
