HAGATNA, Guam – A 22-month-old girl has died in a Guam hospital after a drowning incident at a Tumon beach over the weekend.
Pacific Daily News (http://is.gd/SFYDlF) reports the toddler died early Monday morning at Guam Memorial Hospital.
Guam Fire Department spokesman Lt. Edward Artero says the accident occurred early Sunday evening at a beach in the vicinity of the Outrigger Guam Resort.
Artero says responders performed CPR on the girl on the way to the hospital.
Hospital spokeswoman June Perez says the girl died shortly after 2 a.m. Monday.
The death is the third Guam water-related fatality in 2015.
Two swimmers were pronounced dead at Guam Memorial Hospital after they were pulled from the water Saturday at the Ritidian unit of the Guam National Wildlife Refuge.
