Second-degree murder charge laid against 23-year-old Vancouver man

Vancouver police say a murder charge has been laid in the city's seventh homicide of 2019.

A statement from police says 23-year-old Yasin Rashid has been charged with the second-degree murder of Kyle Gabriel.

The 29-year-old man was found injured in a home in Vancouver's West End on Sept. 10 and died later in hospital.

Investigators have not commented on a cause of death.

Rashid, a Vancouver resident, was arrested the next day and police say he remains in custody.
