Montreal Stars Caroline Ouellette breaks CWHL all-time scoring record
BRAMPTON, Ont. – Montreal Stars forward Caroline Ouellette broke the Canadian Women’s Hockey League all-time scoring record by picking up her 235th career point in a 4-3 over the Brampton Thunder on Saturday.
Ouellette, one of six players to win the Angela James Bowl in the CWHL’s first seven seasons, surpassed former record holder Jayna Hefford (234 points), who is not playing this season.
The four-time Canadian Olympic gold medallist had three points Saturday — a goal and two assists — and added four more Sunday in a 6-1 win over Brampton to get to 240 career points.
The Stars are in second place in the league standings behind the Calgary Inferno.
Ouellette now holds CWHL records for career points, career assists (since 2011-12), and assists in a single season (46 in 2010-11). She is also a three-time Clarkson Cup winner with all-time tournament records in goals, assists and points.
