WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS?
By Jessica Wallace
A power outage is being reported this morning in the Sahali area.
B.C. Hydro was unable to confirm the reason for the outage, saying it takes time to update in their system.
Outage updates can typically be found on the power company's website.
B.C. Hydro is, however, recommending certain measures be followed during an outage.
The power company first recommends checking whether power failure is limited to a residence or business. If a neighbours power remains on, it may be the circuit panel or fuse box.
Residents are asked to report outages to B.C. Hydro by calling 1-888-POWERON.
All appliances should be turned off to prevent damages when service is restored.
Finally, it is asked that all lights are turned off except for one inside, to notify residents the power is back on, and one outside, to notify BC Hydro the power is back on.
