North Okanagan RCMP raids lead to arrests of suspected high level drug dealers

Vernon RCMP have arrested four people believed to have been supplying drugs to dealers across the North Okanagan and Revelstoke.

According to a Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release the arrests come after a month-long investigation that involved two raids on properties in Vernon and uncovered seized six pounds of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine along with $30,000 cash.

On Oct. 9 police arrested a 35-year-old female from Vernon and a 25-year-old male from the Lower Mainland area, who had met in a vehicle on Long Acre Drive, Vernon. Searching the vehicle police discovered Canadian currency, fentanyl and cocaine.

Immediately afterwards RCMP officer raided a house at the 4900 block of Old Kamloops Road, arrest a 26-year-old male and a 24-year-old female, both from Alberta and new to the area. Canadian currency, fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine was seized at the property.

RCMP then located an additional residence associated with one of the arrested males and executed a search warrant on the condo unit in 7300 block of Okanagan Landing Road seizing Canadian currency, fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

"Investigators worked hard to identify those believed to be responsible for supplying drugs to several dealers and locations," Sgt. David Evans of Targeted Policing said in the release. "This type of enforcement is part of our commitment to targeting drug trafficking at all levels in the community."

In total over $30,000 in cash as well as six pounds of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine were seized.

The four arrested have been released and are due to appear in court at a future date.

The RCMP have not released their names.
