FRANK, Alta. – A train hauling crude oil has derailed in southern Alberta, but the railway and the Transportation Safety Board say there does not appear to be any leaks.
CP Rail (TSX:CP) says in a news release that a dozen cars carrying crude on a westbound train derailed near Frank in the Crowsnest Pass early Saturday morning.
The railway says 10 of the cars remained upright and that crews are putting them back onto the tracks.
It says there were no injuries or public safety issues.
Chris Krepski with the Transportation Safety Board says the board’s investigators are gathering information about the incident, but that investigators are not being dispatched to the scene at this point.
