Christabel Nettey sets new Canadian indoor long-jumping record at Galan meet

STOCKHOLM – Christabel Nettey set a new Canadian indoor long-jumping record on Thursday at the Galan meet in Stockholm.

The Brampton, Ont., native broke her own mark, set just over a year ago, with a distance of 6.99 metres.

Her previous record was 6.62 metres, which she made on Feb. 15, 2014.

Nettey easily won the event, beating Sweden’s Khaddi Sagnia (6.62) and American Funmi Jimoh (6.57).

Tabia Charles holds the Canadian outdoor record of 6.82 metres set on June 7, 2008.
