Tatiana Maslany wins ACTRA Toronto Award for performances on ‘Orphan Black’

TORONTO – Tatiana Maslany has received yet another award for her versatile performances on “Orphan Black.”

The Regina native has won the ACTRA Toronto Award for outstanding performance by a female for her work on the sci-fi show, which tasks Maslany with portraying a growing number of different clone characters.

Her roles on “Orphan Black” have already led her to two Critics Choice Television Awards, a Canadian Screen Award and a Television Critics Association Award.

She’s also been nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

At the ACTRA Awards ceremony Friday, “Two 4 One” star Gavin Crawford took the prize for outstanding performance by a male, while Cory Doran took the voice-acting honour for “Total Drama.”

And “Dances with Wolves” star Tantoo Cardinal received ACTRA Toronto’s Award of Excellence, given both for a career-spanning body of work as well as activism.
