Matsqui prison in Abbotsford, B.C., under lockdown after ‘incident’
ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – An Abbotsford, B.C., prison was placed under lockdown after an incident on Friday.
A Correctional Service of Canada spokesman confirmed Matsqui Institution remained under lockdown on Saturday.
Jean-Paul Lorieau did not immediately provide further details of the incident that occurred.
Matsqui Institution is a medium-security federal prison located in Abbotsford, about 70 kilometres east of Vancouver.
