Mystery solved: Aubameyang explains hat trick of pushups

DORTMUND, Germany – Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang celebrated his winning goal against Bayern Munich on Saturday night with three pushups, leaving fans at the stadium and those watching at home perplexed.

Now he has explained the mystery: French rapper Gradur was at the match.

Still confused? One of Gradur’s songs has the word “pushups” in its title.

Aubameyang says: “A good friend of mine, a rapper from France, was at the stadium. Gradur has written a song about pushups and that was the reason for the celebration.”

The flamboyant Gabon striker has 12 goals this season and shares the top scorer list with Anthony Modeste of Cologne.

Dortmund’s 1-0 win was also Bayern’s first loss of the season.
