Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (15,164.97, down 35.29 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up 15 cents, or 6.38 per cent, to $2.50 on 16.9 million shares.

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Miner. Down four cents, or 3.36 per cent, to $1.15 on seven million shares.

New Gold Inc. (TSX:NGD). Miner. Down five cents, or 1.14 per cent, to $4.33 on 4.1 million shares.

Spartan Energy Corp. (TSX:SPE). Oil and gas. Up two cents, or 0.72 per cent, to $2.79 on 3.8 million shares.

Mart Resources, Inc. (TSX:MMT). Oil and gas. Down six cents, or 9.84 per cent, to 55 cents on 3.8 million shares.

Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up 10 cents, or 2.02 per cent, to $5.04 on 3.6 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Bank of Montreal (TSX:BMO). Bank. Down $1.55, or two per cent, to $75.83 on 2.7 million shares. The company posted lower earnings that missed expectations amid an “unsettled environment” that saw the bank deal with “significant movements in oil prices, long-term interest rates and the Canadian dollar.”

Canadian National Railway (TSX:CNR). Transportation. Down 13 cents, or 0.15 per cent, to $86.59 on one million shares. The company arrived at a tentative agreement Monday with Unifor, which represents about 4,800 mechanical, intermodal and clerical workers, less than an hour after the railway’s 11 p.m. ET deadline to lock out the union’s members.
