Calgary to host the 2016 Juno Awards at the Scotiabank Saddledome

CALGARY – Calgary has lassoed the Juno Awards.

Next year’s instalment of the annual awards bash will be held at the Scotiabank Saddledome on April 3, 2016.

The Junos were last held in Calgary in 2008, when Russell Peters was host and Feist swept all five of her nominated categories, including album and artist of the year.

The timing of the gala aligns with the scheduled opening of the new National Music Centre facility.

The announcement comes just weeks before this year’s Juno Awards, to be held at Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre on March 15.

Toronto pop outfit Magic! leads with five nominations and Hedley’s Jacob Hoggard will host the show, which will be broadcast on CTV.
